BREAKING: Florida Pastor Arrested for Holding Packed Church Services During Outbreak

Rodney Howard-Browne, a Florida pastor, has been arrested after he refused to stop holding church services, and instead held two packed Sunday services during a coronavirus outbreak, has been arrested “by a local sheriff who said he was putting his followers’ lives at risk,” according to Daily Beast and other publications.

Howard-Browne has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful assembly and violation of public health rules after holding the services at The River at Tampa Bay church.

The pastor has publicly spoken out against social distancing, claiming his church “has machines that can stop the coronavirus and vowing to personally cure the state of Florida himself,” the Daily Beast reports.

“His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk, and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week, in danger.”
