A judge during jury selection has threatened disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein with jail over his phone usage in court, Reuters reports.
Judge James Burke made the threat during jury selection in Weinstein’s rape trial, which was underway Tuesday.
“Is this really the way you want to end up in jail for the rest of your life, by texting and violating a court order?” Burke asked the 67-year-old defendant.
Only 36 of the 120 jurors called in remained at the end of today’s proceedings. 40 of the potential jurors said they could not be impartial in the case.
