Former Congressman Dies at Age 56

Former Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick has died at the age of 56, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Former Pennsylvania Rep. Fitzpatrick reportedly died Monday, according to Pat Poprik, the head of the Bucks County GOP. He had been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2008.

Fitzpatrick was first elected to Congress in 2004, serving one term, before being elected again in 2010, serving three terms in his second time around.

He did not seek reelection in 2018 due to a self-imposed term limit. His brother, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, succeeded him.
