UPDATE: Ethan Couch will reportedly be released from jail today, one day after his arrest, per NBC Dallas-Fort Worth. According to a statement from Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson, Couch had a “weak positive” THC result on a drug patch.
Ethan Couch, best known for using an “affluenza” defense in a fatal drunk driving case, has been arrested in Tarrant County, Texas, per KDFW-TV.
Couch was reportedly arrested Thursday for a probation violation and was booked into the Tarrant County jail the same day. It is unclear what he did to violate his probation.
Couch is widely known as the “Affluenza Teen” who used the defense that he needed to have rehabilitation instead of jail time after four people were killed in a crash where he was driving while intoxicated.
Couch was sentenced to 10 years probation and two years in jail for the crash. His sentence was widely considered to have been too lenient.
