More than a dozen shoppers were injured in Australia when balloons were dropped from the ceiling on Tuesday as part of a mall promotion, according to a report.
The balloons were released at midnight and contained coupons at Westfield mall in Sydney. Some as little as $5. A stampede began as people were fighting to get a deal, 9News reported.
Footage showed people being thrown to the ground as others tried to grab balloons. One of the customers said the stampede destroyed one of the Christmas displays in the mall.
