BREAKING: Large Earthquake Strikes Off Coast of Canada

A large preliminary 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck off of the coast of Port Hardy, Canada, according to the USGS.

The earthquake struck Tuesday evening about 183 km west of Port Hardy. The earthquake was very shallow, registering at a preliminary depth of just one km.

The National Tsunami Warning Center says that a tsunami is not expected from the earthquake.
