Bald Eagle Shot and Killed in Indiana

A bald eagle was shot and killed in Indiana Saturday and conservation officials are searching for the killer.

The eagle was found alive in Lawrence County, but died later from its injuries, according to the Indiana Division of Law Enforcement.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Indiana Conservation Officers.

Bald eagles were removed from the endangered animal list in 2007, but are still protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, which makes possessing, selling or hunting bald eagles illegal.
