Officials Investigating Possible ‘White Power’ Signs Seen During Army-Navy Game

Military officials are investigating some West Point cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen who were apparently seen on television doing a hand sign that can be contributed to the “white power” movement.

The hand signs were seen on an ESPN broadcast before the game between Army and Navy on Saturday. As ESPN anchor Reece Davis talked about the rivalry while surrounded by a group of students, some flashed the “OK” hand symbol.

The sign has become popular among far-right extremists. NBC News reported that two West Point cadets and one Naval midshipman were seen making the hand gesture.

“We’re looking into it,” Lt. Col. Chris Ophardt, a West Point spokesman said. “I don’t know what their intention is.”

  1. The OK hand sign is not a far right symbol. Its univeral to mean OK or Alright. The news doesnt make get to make up their own definitions of things…try as the left wants to redefine words and symbols…they fail. OK sign wil always be the OK sign!
