Police are investigating after recording devices were found in some rooms of the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A spokesperson for Wisconsin’s Madison Metropolitan School District told Minneapolis KSTP-TV that some of their students found hidden cameras in their hotel rooms while on a school trip.
An employee of the school who was accompanying the students was put on administrative leave as a precaution, the spokesperson said.
Mark Bastic, general manager of the hotel, told KSTP in a statement, “The safety and security of guests and colleagues is a top priority at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. As soon as we learned about this situation, we contacted local authorities immediately.”
“It does not appear that anyone associated with the hotel was involved,” the statement said. Police do not know if the devices recorded any guests.
