UPDATE 2: Former NBA Commissioner David Stern has reportedly died at the age of 77 following his hospitalization, per ESPN.

UPDATE: Former NBA Commissioner David Stern is in serious condition, not critical, according to a statement released by the league. He has not suffered any medical events since undergoing emergency surgery for a brain hemorrhage last Thursday.

TMZ, citing an NBA statement, reports that Stern is currently “surrounded by loved ones.”

NEW YORK CITY (News Breaking LIVE) — Former National Basketball League Commissioner David Stern has been rushed to the hopsital and has undergone emergency surgery for a brain hemmorhage, the NBA has announced.

Stern, who holds the honorary NBA Commissioner Emeritus title, collapsed at a restaurant in Manhattan and was rushed to the hospital.

His current condition is not known.

Stern is 77 years old.
