A deputy in Pensacola, Florida, has been shot while responding to a person threatening self-harm, WTSP-TV reports.
An Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputy was shot while responding to a person who was threatening to commit suicide. The person reportedly then opened fire on the deputies.
In the ensuing gunfight, the deputy was struck and injured. Both the officer and the suspect have been transported to a nearby hospital, although their conditions are unknown.
