Hundreds of arrests have reportedly been made as part of an operation targeting gangs in the Houston-area, the Houston Chronicle reports.
“Operation Triple Beam” resulted in the arrests of more than 500 violent offenders, some of which have gang affiliations, in the Houston area.
The operation was a result of a collaborative effort between state, federal and county law enforcement agencies.
The agencies captured 501 fugitives and cleared 793 arrest warrants, said U.S. Marshal Gary Blankinship. Around 113 gang members were arrested, while 221 gang warrants were closed, he added.
Law enforcement seized 41 firearms, more than $460,000 in U.S. currency, nine vehicles and 11.6 kilos of narcotics across the length of the operation.
