Former White House physician Ronny Jackson will reportedly be running for Congress, the Texas Tribune reports.
Retire Rear Navy Admiral Jackson filed to run for a seat in the House of Representatives in Texas, currently held by retiring Representative Mac Thornberry.
Rep. Thornberry, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, represents a staunchly Republican district who voted almost 80% in favor of President Trump in the 2016 election.
Jackson spent more than a decade as a top physician to Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. He will face around a dozen other Republicans who have already entered the district’s race.
