A 30-year-old Baltimore, Maryland, woman was charged in the death of a 15-year-old girl in a fatal accident on Tuesday.
Jennifer Jean Jones was charged with negligent manslaughter by vehicle. Jones allegedly struck and killed Trinity Lynn Brooks while she was walking on the sidewalk.
According to police, the Nissan Altima Jones was driving swerved before jumping the sidewalk and striking Trinity. Jones then continued to drive hitting a tree and going through a fence.
Emergency personnel found Jones unconscious in her car with an odor of alcohol. Jones admitted to an EMT that she drank seven shots of alcohol, according to police.
Police found two empty 200 ml bottles of Fireball 66 proof whiskey on the floorboard of the front passenger seat of her car. The officer also found 92 bottles of “99 brand” liquor on the floorboard. They also found a glass pipe with marijuana and a substance they believe was heroin in her pocket as well as several pills bottles.
Jones waived her right to appear at a bail review hearing. She will continue to be held without bond.
