Former Mayor Sentenced to 2 Years Minus a Day in Prison for Child Sex Crimes

The former mayor of Burns Lake, British Columbia, Canada, has been sentenced for child sex crimes, CBC News reports.

Former Mayor Luke Strimbold has been sentenced to two years minus a day in prison for sex crimes against youth, including some which were reportedly committed while he was in office.

Strimbold, 28, had pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and one count each of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

All victims were reportedly under the age of 16.
