BREAKING: Rep. Duncan Hunter to Change Not Guilty Plea in Federal Corruption Case

Representative Duncan Hunter of California is expected to change his not guilty plea for corruption charges brought against him in 2016, KNSD-TV reports.

Rep. Hunter’s attorneys filed for a change of plea hearing, which is set for 10 a.m. local time tomorrow in a San Diego federal courtroom.

Hunter and his wife, Margaret Hunter, were indicted in 2018 on charges they used over $250,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses ranging from groceries to golf trips and family vacations.

Prosecutors have also accused Hunter of spending campaign money on a string of extramarital affairs. He had pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Margaret Hunter pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, agreeing to testify against her husband during his trial as part of the plea deal.
