At least 11 people were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting in New Orleans’ French Quarter, police said.
The shooting began around 3:20 a.m. when police officers with the New Orleans Police Department heard gunfire. When they arrived at the scene they “discovered multiple individuals had been struck by gunfire.”
Two of the victims are in critical condition, authorities said in a news release. Ten people were transported to nearby hospitals and police said an 11th person walked to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators said someone was “detained near the scene,” but it is now known if they were involved in the shooting. Nobody has been arrested and no motive is known at this time.
