Nine people were killed and three others injured Saturday after a plane crashed in southern South Dakota, fire officials said. The plane was headed to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Twelve people were on board the Pilatus PC-12 when it crashed near Chamberlain, South Dakota, shortly after takeoff, Peter Knudson of the NTSB said.
Three people were reportedly injured. The pilot and two children were among the dead, KELO-TV reported. The plane is able to carry up to 10 passengers and is flown by one pilot.
