Gary Rhodes, a celebrity chef who hosted TV shows including “MasterChef,” “MasterChef USA,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” and “Rhodes Around Britain,” has died. He was 59.
His family said in a statement to the Associated Press that he died Tuesday with his wife Jennie by his side. The family thanked everyone for their support and asked for privacy during this time. No cause of death has been released.
Rhodes was known for helping to change the reputation of dull British food around the world. He was running two restaurants in Dubai at the time of his death, the BBC reported. He is survived by his wife, Jennie, and two children.
