An 82-year-old female bodybuilder fought back against a man who broke into her home on Thursday night as she was getting ready for bed. She used her strength and some household items to subdue the intruder. Murphy is an award-winning bodybuilder who still competes.
Willie Murphy attends the Maplewood YMCA in Rochester, New York, every day. She was getting ready for bed around 11:00 p.m. when a man started banging on the door asking for an ambulance saying he was sick.
Murphy called the police and wouldn’t let him inside, which she says made the man angry. The man entered the home while Murphy hid in the dark.
She told WHAM-TV, “I picked up the table, and I went to work on him,” said Murphy, who can deadlift 225 pounds. “The table broke. And when he’s down, I’m jumping on him.” She added, “He picked the wrong house to break into.”
“I’m alone and I’m old, but guess what? I’m tough.”
