Officials say that two Air Force airmen have been killed during a training mission in Oklahoma, Fox News reports.
The two airmen, stationed out of Vance Air Force Base, were killed Thursday after an “aircraft mishap,” according to the U.S. Air Force. An earlier statement from the base stated that two T-38 Talons were involved and that two more pilots were onboard.
The conditions of the two surviving pilots are not known at this time. The T-38 is the primary training jet for Air Force pilots in the jet pipeline.
“Vance emergency response personnel are on scene to treat casualties and assist in recovery efforts. Additional details will be provided as information becomes available,” according to the Air Force statement.
