A Navy veteran who was found dead inside his Texas apartment last week had reportedly been deceased for three years before the discovery was made, WFAA-TV reports.
Ronald Wayne White, 51 at the presumed time of death, was found dead in the kitchen of his apartment just outside of Dallas last week, according to officials.
Crews had been checking on apartments that were still being rented but had not been using water when they made the grizzly discovery.
The medical examiner ruled Thursday that White had been dead for three years, which family members say had been the last time they had heard from him. However, they were unable to file a missing persons report due to his age and occupation as a defense contractor, which required frequent travel.
Police say that they have not found any indication of foul play.
