Over a dozen people have been arrested in an undercover child-sex sting in Yakima County, Washington, the Yakima Herald reports.
Law enforcement officials say that 16 people were arrested in total during the course of the operation, with 12 being from Yakima County.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Net Nanny,” targeted people that were searching online for ways to have sex with minors.
The operation involved federal, state and local agencies, including the FBI, Washington State Patrol, Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and the Yakima and Union Gap police departments.
Those arrested were being investigated for child rape, commercial sex abuse of a minor, communicating with minors for immoral purposes and sexual exploitation of minors.
