Police in Puyallup, Washington, say a 14-year-old girl has been arrested after leading authorities on a high-speed chase and driving impaired.
A trooper saw an SUV speeding, driving at times between 90 and 100 mph, KOMO reported. The trooper attempted to pull the car over. “The vehicle failed to yield to the trooper and a pursuit happened,” Trooper Johnna Batiste with the Washington State Patrol said.
A second trooper deployed spike strips during the chase, which were able to pop the tires of the SUV causing the vehicle to crash. Two 14-year-old girls then ran from police before they were eventually caught. The driver was arrested for felony alluding police and suspicion of DUI, KOMO reported.
The second teen, who had been reported as missing, was released to her mother. Police say the driver suffered a minor injury during the incident.
