Michael Avenatti has reportedly been indicted by a federal grand jury in his Nike extortion case, CNN reports.
Avenatti has been charged with attempting to extort millions of dollars from Nike, according to court filings.
In addition to the attempted extortion charges, the superseding indictment returned today added one count of honest services wire fraud, while dropping conspiracy charges.
Avenatti has stated that he expects to be “fully exonerated” in the case.
