Robert Norris, the man who was the original “Marlboro Man,” has reportedly died at the age of 90.
Norris, who despite the iconic role maintained that he never actually smoked a cigarette, reportedly died at his ranch in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He held the role of “Marlboro Man” for around a dozen years, becoming a cultural icon of the 1960’s.
Norris eventually quit the role, stating that he felt that he was setting a poor example for children. He returned to his hometown in Colorado, working as a rancher and philanthropist.
