“Babe” star James Cromwell has reportedly been arrested while participating in a PETA protests at a Texas A&M University Board of Regents meeting.
Cromwell joined other activists at the school’s Memorial Student Center at the event orchestrated by PETA. The group were protesting the school’s practice of breeding sick dogs for medical research, which the university had recently announced they were scaling back. He and another man were arrested and will be charged with hindering proceedings by disorderly conduct.
In addition to “Babe,” Cromwell appeared in “Star Trek: First Contact,” “The Green Mile,” and “Secretariat,” among others. For his role in “Babe,” the established actor was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
