Samsung Satellite Crashes into Michigan Couple’s Yard

A Michigan couple say that a device launched by Samsung into space last week crash-landed onto their rural property over the weekend.

Nancy Mumby-Welke and her husband say that they found the satellite on Saturday after hearing a large crash outside. The “Space Selfie” device, which the company said aimed to capture images “using a unique view of planet earth as the backdrop,” according to Samsung.

Samsung has confirmed that their “Space Selfie” device had fallen back to Earth, adding that an “early soft landing in a selected rural area” that was “planned” because of weather conditions in the United States.
