Three people were found dead, including the gunman, in a Burke, Virginia, home after a domestic disturbance call lead to a barricade situation when the gunman opened fire on officers Monday night, Fairfax County police said.
The other two people who died are a man and a woman. Two officers sustained minor injuries after an exchange of gunfire at the home after they arrived around 9:11 p.m., police said. Police said the initial call came from a woman who reported that a family member had threatened her with a gun.
When SWAT officers got into the home after the exchange of gunfire, they found the three people dead. It is not clear the time between the gun exchange and when SWAT officers entered the building. Police remain on the scene and are investigating the incident.
