City of Atlanta Subpoenaed in Federal Investigation

The city of Atlanta, Georgia, is reportedly under federal investigation after receiving a subpoena from the SEC.

The SEC has reportedly opened an investigation into the city’s use of airport funds and has also requested documents that will show who provided key financial data to investors in the bond market. The subpoena was issued earlier in October and requests information dating to Jan. 1, 2016.

The SEC also added in an attached letter that they have not yet concluded that there has been a violation of federal law.
