BREAKING: Multiple Soldiers Killed, Others Injured During Training Accident at Georgia Army Base

Three soldiers were killed and three others were injured early Sunday morning after a training accident at the Fort Stewart Army base in Georgia.

All six, members of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, were riding in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when the accident occurred, officials told WSAV. The three injured soldiers were taken to the hospital.

Maj. Gen. Tony Aguto, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, said in a statement, “Today is a heartbreaking day for the 3rd Infantry Division, and the entire Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield community, as we are all devastated after a training accident this morning on the Fort Stewart Training Area,” The soldiers have not been publicly identified and the cause of the accident has not been released.
