A special education teacher in Monroe, Louisiana, has been arrested after she was accused of abusing students with autism.
Melissa Lacomb faces two counts of felony cruelty to juveniles stemming from two different incidents at Madison James Foster Elementary School on October 3rd. In the first incident, an employee reported that the teacher hit a 4-year-old student, who has autism, with a ruler on the right thigh.
In the second incident, the same employee told administrators that Lacomb placed a different 4-year-old student with autism in a bathroom, closed the door and left the child there for about a half-hour. The report says the child could be heard screaming and crying during that time period.
