“Lynyrd Skynyrd” Co-Founder Dies

“Lynyrd Skynyrd” and “.38 Special” bassist Larry Junstrom has reportedly died at the age of 70.

Junstrom met original “Lynyrd Skynyrd” lead singer Ronnie Van Zandt when they were teenagers, helping to create the band in 1964 along with Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, and Bob Burn. He eventually left the band before their first major album release, joining “.38 Special” six years later.

Junstrom played on all 12 of the band’s studio albums before retiring from the group in 2014, following a hand injury.
