A Los Angeles area theater canceled screenings of the movie “Joker” after police say there was a “credible” threat. There have been security fears throughout the country surrounding the film’s release.
Police in cities including New York and Las Vegas have stepped up patrols at theaters showing the movie. On Friday, a theater in Huntington Beach, California, canceled two Thursday night showings after police were called.
The Police Department said it had received reports of a possible threat to the Century Theatre at the Bella Terra shopping center and were treating it as “credible”. They declined to provide details of the threat.
