Iran Warns of ‘All-Out War’ if U.S. Retaliates After Saudi Oil Facility Bombings

Iran warned Thursday that an “all-out war” could break out if any country attacks it after bombings of Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities that the U.S. believes Iran planned.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s message to CNN comes a day after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted that the “Iranian regime’s threatening behavior will not be tolerated.”

“I am making a very serious statement that we don’t want to engage in a military confrontation,” Zarif said in an interview with CNN. “But we won’t blink to defend our territory.” When asked what would happen after a U.S. or Saudi strike, Zarif said, “All-out war.” It would cause “a lot of casualties,” he said.
