BREAKING: Federal Agent Arrested in Louisiana After Allegedly Attempting to Sabotage Investigation

A federal agent with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has been arrested after he reportedly attempted to sabotage a sheriff’s office investigation.

Jerry Rogers Jr., 46, was arrested Monday after he allegedly attempted to sabotage an investigation being conducted by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he used to work. Officials say Rogers used a fake name to set up an email address and used that account to message family members of a victim, sending them derogatory statements regarding the lead investigator and others closely involved in the investigation.

The department says that the comments ruined the trust that the investigator had with the family. Rogers was an employee of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office from June 23, 1998, to Oct. 23, 2009, at which time he left on his own accord.
