Former NFL player Terrell Roberts was reportedly shot dead Wednesday night while visiting his grandmother in Richmond, California.
Roberts, who played two seasons as a defensive back for the Cincinnati Bengals in mid-2000s, was at his grandmother’s home when someone entered the home and shot him in the chest, his family said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roberts was reportedly shot inside the home’s garage before staggering to the backyard, where he was found by police. Police do not yet know if Roberts knew the suspect, described as a black man between 20 and 35 years old who is bald with a short beard, weighing about 250 pounds and wearing a black T-shirt.
