Veteran actress Valerie Harper, best known for her roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and its spinoff “Rhoda” has died at the age of 80.
Harper’s death was confirmed by her family, who say she passed away Friday morning. Her cause of death was not disclosed. The veteran actress first rose to fame for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and then the character was spun off to her own sitcom, “Rhoda,” in the late 1970s.
Harper won four Emmys and a Golden Globe for her work in those two shows.
