Conservative radio host and former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh says that he is “strongly, strongly considering” challenging President Trump in the Republican primaries.
Speaking on CNN’s “New Day,” Walsh stated he is “strongly, strongly considering it. That’s…again, I’m not trying to be cute or coy. I’ve told you before, if somebody’s going to get in there and go after him, it’s got to be done soon.” He also apologized last week for electing an “unfit con man” to the presidency, adding that he only voted for Donald Trump because he was not Hillary Clinton.
Walsh also stated that he believed he can seriously challenge Trump, adding that he believes any “good challenger” could win against the President “if they make the moral case (against him).” He would be the second person to announce a primary challenge to Trump, joining former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld.
