Federal agents are reporting that a truck driver said that he would commit a mass shooting at a church in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday.
Thomas Matthew McVicker was arrested in Indianapolis before he could carry out the plan. An FBI agent said in an affidavit that McVicker made “credible threats to conduct a mass shooting and suicide.”
Earlier this month, McVicker’s friend told a Florida FBI agent that McVicker was considering “shooting a church up” or killing people on the street. The motive is unknown and the location of the church was not disclosed.
