UPDATE: CBP officials say that the system is coming back online and they are restoring normal functionality at all afflicted airports. In a tweet, the agency also says that they do not believe the outage to have been caused by anything malicious in nature.
Customs and Border Protection systems at several airports nationwide are reportedly experiencing issues, causing heavy delays.
LAX and JFK International Airports are reportedly experiencing heavy delays due to the issues, according to the airports’ Twitter accounts. At both airports, officials are reportedly processing passengers manually. It is unclear what could be causing the issues.
