Customs and Border Protection officials say that they have seized $142,000 worth of meth from a woman’s vehicle as she tried to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona.
The woman, who is from Tucson, Arizona, was stopped at the Port of Nogales border entry point. Further investigation by agents found around 158 pounds of methamphetamine inside of her Mercury sedan, spread among 160 different packages. Both the vehicle and drugs were seized by officials.
The 57-year-old woman has been arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
