Local and federal officials say that 57 people have been arrested in a series of raids conducted in Louisville, Kentucky.
The raids were launched as an attempt to combat and curb violent crime in the city. Of the 57 arrested, 49 were picked up on existing warrants, seven face new felony charges and one was charged with a misdemeanor. Officials added that 13 firearms were seized, with nine being possessed by convicted felons, four reported stolen and one in the possession of a juvenile.
Officials have not provided the names of those arrested at this time.
