Singer R. Kelly has reportedly pleaded not guilty in a New York City court to federal charges of sex abuse.
Kelly appeared in court Friday as his lawyers submitted the not guilty plea on a five count indictment of racketeering and sex trafficking. His two girlfriends, sister, brother and supporters were also in the courtroom at the hearing.
In New York, Kelly is charged with exploiting five victims identified as Jane Does. The charges include accusations that the singer paid for underage girls to meet him in different cities for the sole purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activity. He has been denied bail.
