BREAKING: Evacuations Ordered Following Train Derailment with “Chemical Exposure” 

Evacuations have been ordered in southern Alberta, Canada, following a train derailment.

The derailment occurred Friday afternoon near the hamlet of Irvine, whose residents have been urged to evacuate immediately. The derailment reportedly occurred southeast of Medicine Hat and has prompted the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway in the area.

“The derailment involves damage along the railway line, chemical exposure, and disruption of road and highway access. The train derailment affects a 4 mile radius around the hamlet of Irvine. Residents within the 4 mile radius are asked to evacuate immediately,” an emergency alert from Alberta officials read.
