American rap star A$AP Rocky has been released from a Swedish jail until Aug. 14 when he will hear if he has been found guilty of assault by a Swedish court.
A$AP Rocky, 30, who was born Rakim Mayers, along with two other people from his entourage had pleaded not guilty and claimed they were acting in self-defense when they became involved in a street brawl with an Afghan immigrant in Stockholm on June 30.
They have been in a detention center since July 3 and the case created a feud between President Donald Trump and Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.
The case attracted global attention after celebrities including Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West, brought it to Trump’s attention. Trump offered to post bail for A$AP Rocky. Sweden does not have a bail system.
