More than half of the House Democratic caucus now supports opening an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
The number of House Democrats calling for an inquiry reached 118 with the support of Rep. Salud Carbajal on Friday and now includes more than half of the 235 people in the Democratic caucus.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has attempted to quell impeachment talks saying that impeachment might backfire and help Trump win reelection. Pelosi now has a majority of her caucus wanting to move forward.
The Democratic caucus numbers still leave impeachment supporters short of the 218 votes they need in the House to begin the process.
