Doctors who were examining a seven-year-old Indian boy after he complained of jaw pains were surprised to find 526 teeth inside of his mouth.
The boy was first admitted because of swelling and pain near his molars in his lower right jaw. However, upon taking an x-ray, doctors found a sac inside his lower jaw that was filled with “abnormal teeth.” The sac was surgically removed and then opened, revealing the vast number of teeth inside.
Doctors say that the boy was suffering from a very rare condition called compound composite odontoma. What caused the condition is unclear, but it could be genetic or it could be due to environmental factors like radiation, they added.
