BREAKING: Sports Broadcasting Legend Dies

Sports broadcasting legend Max Falkenstein, who is known as the “Voice of the Jayhawks,” has died at 95, the University of Kansas has announced. 

Falkenstein worked with the university, covering various athletic teams for them from 1946 through 2006, when he retired.

He did play-by-play for Kansas football and basketball from 1946 through 1984, when he moved to a commentator role for the school.

“Sadly, we los a legend,” said Jeff Long, the University of Kansas athletic director.
