BREAKING: West Nile Virus Discovered in Los Angeles County

A mosquito has tested positive for West Nile Virus in Long Beach, California, the first case this year in Los Angeles County, according to ABC 7 Los Angeles.

While the virus has not been found in the county in humans in Los Angeles county yet, “health officials are anticipating a significant year for the virus, especially as temperatures warmer, and that brings more mosquitos to Los Angeles County,” ABC 7 says.

A total of 11 people died in California of West Nile Virus last year.
